India’s auto sector has been witnessing tough times since the start of 2019 and various automakers, including Honda and Mahindra, are in huge loss. However, the auto sector is showing signs of recovery with carmakers reporting the major boost in terms of sales. Notably, on the occasion of Dhanteras, a number of carmakers including Mahindra made a record number of deliveries. Mahindra reported deliveries of close to 13,500 units across the country on a festive day.
In a regulatory filing, Mahindra & Mahindra said, "This festive season on the day of Dhanteras the auto division of the Company delivered close to 13,500 vehicles across the country." It is worth mentioning here that Mahindra joined the likes of Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, MG Motor and others that registered record delivery in a single day.
According to the reports, Maruti Suzuki delivered nearly 45,000 cars on Dhanteras. Hyundai India delivered 12,500 cars in a single day while Morris Garages delivered 700 Hector SUVs. On the other hand, Mercedes made a record number of deliveries with 600 vehicles delivered to customers.
Mahindra is offering discounts from Rs 56,000 on the KUV100 NXT, going up to over Rs 1 lakh on the Alturas G4. Also, dealerships are offering additional incentives this festive season in a bid to attract customers and clear BS4 vehicle inventory. The discounts on the Mahindra offerings will end on October 31, 2019.
