Mahindra on Monday launched the automated manual transmission (AMT) option for the W6 variant of the XUV300. The price for the AMT option of Mahindra XUV300 in India has been set at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Mahindra calls it an autoSHIFT. It is to be noted that the new mid-spec XUV300 AMT is about Rs 1.50 lakh cheaper than the W8 AMT version which was launched in July 2019.
According to the Mahindra, the 5-speed autoSHIFT AMT unit is sourced from Magneti Marelli. The gearbox is tuned to offer peppy acceleration and ease while overtaking. As far as the powertrain of XUV300 AMT is concerned, the SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine that belts out 115 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque.
It further gets additional features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill Start Assist for more convenience. According to a report of NDTV’s carandbike, the AMT Option of Mahindra XUV300 W6 Variant gets a gearbox that comes with Vehicle Creep function which will further aid in stop-and-go traffic, however, as a safety measure, the creep function will be disabled if the doors are open. It is worth mentioning here that the rest of the features remain identical to the manual version of the W6 variant.
Mahindra XUV300 AMT will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza AMT, Tata Nexon AMT and Hyundai Venue. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza AMT is priced between Rs 8.69 lakh and Rs 10.42 lakh. Tata Nexon AMT is offered in both petrol and diesel trims, is priced from Rs 7.94 lakh to Rs 11.01 lakh. On the other hand, Hyundai Venue comes with the DCT automatic gearbox (petrol only) and it is priced between Rs 9.35 lakh to Rs 11.10 lakh.
