New Delhi:

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Friday said it has increased prices of Eeco range due to upgradation of the model to comply with the latest crash regulations. The company said the model will now cost ranging between Rs 3.61 lakh and Rs 6.61 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Delhi/NCR. “Eeco is now crash compliant as per latest regulatory norms. This will result in price increase in all variants of Eeco,” MSI said in a regulatory filing. The new rates for the model are applicable from immediate effect.

Apart from this, the company added a new cab variant of the Ertiga MPV in its product line-up. It is to be noted that the new Maruti Suzuki Tour M diesel is based on the Ertiga and is priced at Rs 9.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The recently-launched Maruti Tour M diesel comes equipped with the company’s in-house developed 1.5-litre four-cylinder, DDiS motor that churns out 94 bhp and 225 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Maruti Tour M comes loaded with projector headlamps, chrome grille, 3D LED taillights, body-coloured door handles and electrically adjustable ORVMs, and 15-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the cabin gets power windows, tilt steering with audio controls, armrests for all three rows, keyless entry, AC vents for the second row, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, etc. The vehicle also gets fabric seats.

The safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, front seatbelts with pre-tensioners, speed-sensitive door lock, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX, among others. Maruti’s newly-launched car comes in three colour options including Pearl Midnight Black, Pearl Arctic White, and Metallic Silky Silver.

It is worth mentioning here that despite the slowdown in India’s auto sector, the Ertiga continues to retail an average of 8000 units every month.
