The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) came into existence in 1969 with its office in the city of Dharamshala. Formulating policies, school syllabus, conducting the examination, evaluating board examination copies come under its jurisdiction. It regulates and supervises more than 8,000 schools in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Under its HP Board Examination, more than five lakh students participate yearly.
The Telangana Board of Secondary Education is a Board of education for public and private schools under the state government of Telangana. The Board controls and maintains all the necessary secondary education in the state of Telangana. Under this Board, various courses are offered to students for different occupations and to prepare the students for university.
Established during the British era in 1910, the Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education (TNBSE) is the highest authority in the state that looks after the propagation, development and maintenance of school level education in Tamil Nadu. The Directorate of Examination is known as the Andhra Pradesh SSC Board in the state. It is also known as the BSEAP or the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh. The Board works directly under the guidance of the Ministry of Secondary Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is the apex school-level educational body that looks after the development, promotion and regulation of school education in the state. The Board of High School and Intermediate Education Uttar Pradesh conducts the annual UP Board High School Exam for Class 10 students and UP Board Intermediate Exam for Class 12 students.
The Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) was established in the year 1975 through the Goa, Daman and Diu Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Act, 1975. The GBSHSE conducts the annual Board exams for SSC and HSSC students every year in the month of March-April followed by the declaration of Goa Board Result in the month of May.
The Jharkhand Academic Council came into existence through the Jharkhand Academic Council Act 02 July 2003, on 26 December 2003. An Act to establish the Jharkhand Academic Council was enacted by the Jharkhand State Legislature and assented to by the Governor of the State on 26.12.2003, which was known as Jharkhand Academic Council Act 02.7.2003.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) was established on May 1960, to administer and regulate the higher education system in the state. The GSEB conducts the annual exams for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and the Higher Secondary (School) Certificate (HSC). Apart from the secondary and higher secondary examination board also conducts Engineering Entrance Examination (GUJCET).
The Meghalaya Board of School Education was set up as per the 1973 MBOSE Act. The board has the right to control, regulate and look after the matters associated with school education in Meghalaya. The education board also conducts examinations for secondary school leaving certificate for students.
The Directorate of Higher Education, Kerala was established in the year 1990 in accordance with the National Education Policy. The Higher Secondary, Secondary and Vocational Higher Education in the state of Kerala are monitored by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE). The DHSE conducts the SSLC examination at the Secondary (Class 10) level and the HSC examination (CLASS 11 and 12) at the Higher Secondary level.
The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) is functioning since the year 2001. The first board examination was conducted by the CGBSE in the year 2002. The board regulates the academic guidelines for a few courses, apart from conducting the yearly state level examinations for Class 10 and 12.
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) was established to function as a regulatory and supervisory board, to formulate and implement education policies of the Karnataka Government. The Department of Pre-University, Government of Karnataka is a regulatory body that manages and looks after the higher secondary education in the state. The PUE Department, Karnataka also conducts the annual Karnataka 2nd PU Board Exam in the state.
