Under the aegis of Dr. Hrishikesh D Pai, the President of the Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), an esteemed gynecologist and pioneer in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) hosted the FEMMTEK-IV Conference at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, on November 25th and 26th, 2023 in association with the Mumbai Obstetric and Gynaecological Society, MOGS.
On the occasion of the conference, Dr. Hrishikesh Pai commented, ‘As 2023 comes to an end, I am elated to have organized the FEMMTEK-IV Conference focusing on the advancements in the field of reproductive medicine. As the president of the FOGSI, I thank my team and member professionals for helping me organize more than 20 conferences including one in London and in-person meetings along with public health initiatives, the most significant being the FOGSI Nari Swasthya Janandolan Yatra for Anaemia Mukt Bharat.
The FEMMTEK-IV Conference provided a platform to raise awareness of medical professionals about the latest advances and the best clinical practices in Reproductive Medicine, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Hi-Tech Procedures’.
The participants had the opportunity to interact with more than 200 national and 15 international faculty members and experts. During the 2-day conference, various sessions, panel discussions, and meetings were scheduled across four halls covering topics such as Infertility, Antenatal Maternal Health, AI Technology and various related aspects.
Along with national participants, international participants included members from esteemed gynecological organizations such as FIGO, AOFOG, SAFOG, ISAR, WHO, UNICEF, JHPIEGO, and GATES FOUNDATION.
The delegates were encouraged to deliver a paper/poster presentation in various categories such as infertility and Art, Maternal Health, Endocrinology and Contraception, Technology in Women’s Health, Infections & Cancers in Women. A total of 30 prizes were distributed, while the best 3 posters and/or presentations received FOGSI certificates along with cash prizes of Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,000, and Rs. 5000. An excellent cultural program featuring "FOGSI Has Talent" competition, Ms and Mr FOGSI Pageant finals, and the KADAM: Fashion Walk for Women’s Health & Empowerment was yet another highlight of the conference.
The FEMMTEK-IV Conference was a great learning opportunity that encouraged knowledge exchange and professional growth. Participants learned about recent advancements in the fields of ART and reproductive medicine.
Along with being the FOGSI President, Dr. Pai is the Medical Director of Bloom IVF Group, which has nearly nine centers across India. He is credited with the introduction of IVF and other ART techniques in India. He has contributed a great deal in the field of Assisted Reproductive Technology, with the introduction of Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), assisted laser hatching, Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis and several groundbreaking ART techniques.
Dr. Pai is sincerely involved in community service, advocating for women’s health and well-being. He serves as the Treasurer of FOGSI and has founded The Infertility Health Foundation, a charitable trust aimed at providing subsidized healthcare for low-income families.
