New Delhi:
Chartered Accountant-turned- politician and Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today amused his fellow parliamentarians by punning on his own name in the start of his maiden Railway Budget speech.
The parliamentarians in Lok Sabha bursted into laughter, when Prabhu said "Our priority is to improve the capacity in the high density section. But I thought, hey Prabhu (oh God), how will it happen.”
He also added "Prabhu (God) didn't answer, so this Prabhu thought, why can't we do something?"
Announcing his first Railway Budget, the Union minister today said there would be no hike in passenger fares.
He also said stairs to the upper berth would be improved and the middle berth would be "reserved for women and old people like me."
The minister also announced a high speed corridor between Delhi and Kolkata.
