Airtel has maintained its market leadership position by adding four million new subscribers in November, according to cellular operators’ association of India (COAI). The total mobile subscriber base in the country touched 975.4 million in November, as per data released by the mobile industry body.
Airtel had 29.68% market share with a subscriber base of 289.54 million. It was closely followed by Vodafone that ended November with 211.03 million subscribers. Idea Cellular was at number three with a subscriber base of 194.07 million.
According to the report, UP (East) circle remained at the top with 84.99 million subscribers, while Maharashtra was at second position with 81.50 million mobile subscribers.
Reliance Jio is fast catching up with big three with a subscriber base of more than 145 million by October end.
