Flipkart has launched online sales with a discount offer of up to 80 percent on electronic, consumer and other goods in a move to compete against the Amazon Prime Day sale.
Flipkart announced this huge sale offer a day after Amazon launched its first prime day sale in India.
According to report in Economic times, "In addition to exclusive smartphone launches, Flipkart is offering heavy cuts across product categories on a range of brands including Adidas, Fossil, Hidesign, Sony and Samsung, among others,"
Flipkart is also offering up to 70% off on sarees, footwear, handbags and lingerie. On entire sets of jewellery under Rs 800 and valuable deals on various beauty and wellness products.
Divastri which is Flipkart's own private fashion label - is also offering sale over 70% discount. Launched less than a month ago, it has been taping into the growing demand for women's ethnic wear.
As far as men’s wear is concerned, there will be a discount of 80 percent on watches and sunglasses across a range of brands including Blackberrys, Lee, Numero Uno, Wills Lifestyle and Provogue.
Launched earlier in India in 2017, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone will go on sale on Wednesday, priced at Rs 9,999. It will be available in all three colour variants - Gold, Black and Dark Grey.
Flipkart has also stated that it guarantees a buyback option for the Redmi Note 4.
Flipkart has also shown interest in buying troubled counterpart Snapdeal. Fresh reports said Flipkart will bid with a revised offer price of 1 billion dollars to buy Snapdeal.
