Google, Facebook offer $ 1 million help to victims of South Asia floods, Hurricane Harvey

New Delhi:

Technology giants Google and Facebook are extending their helping hands to victims of India, Nepal and Bangladesh floods and Hurricane Harvey. As per reports, both Google and Facebook have pledged $ 1 million each to the victims of natural calamities.

While Google has committed $ 1 million to NGOs Goonj and Save the Children who are actively working towards welfare of flood victims in India, Nepal and Bangladesh, Facebook has also offered $ 1 million to the victims affected by Hurricane Harvey.

NGO ‘Save the Children’ is actively working in India, Nepal and Bangladesh to help 1,60,000 affected people. Goonj aims to help 75,000 families in nine affected states in India.

Both the NGOs are offering help to affected people by providing food and livelihood support, temporary shelter materials, hygiene products and water source restoration.
