Korean smartphone giant Samsung is all set to launch its latest flagship phone- Galaxy S8 at the company’s mega launch event in New York. The event will be live streamed at 8:30 PM (IST) in India.

Touted as the biggest smartphone launch of 2017, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is also seen as a crucial bid after Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. The major technical issues with Galaxy Note 7 severely hampered the company's image and Samsung would like to attract back its users which it lost during the crisis.

Several rumours and leaks are already doing the rounds on the internet about the features and specifications of Galaxy S8. Rumours suggest that the new Samsung Galaxy S8 will be launched in two different variants.

Reportedly the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be unveiled in two different sizes- one with a 5.7-inch screen and another one which might be called Galaxy S8 Plus might sport a mega 6.2-inch screen.

Samsung is also expected to come up with its new ‘Bixby virtual assistant’ with Galaxy S8. It would be interesting to see how it will compete with the presently available Cortona, Siri, Alexa and Google's assistant software.

According to rumours, Samsung might add a few new accessories to its kitty. One of them could be a 'DeX dock' which will be capable of turning the new smartphone into a desktop. A new Gear 360 camera is also expected to come up in the launch event.

With the launch event just a few hours away from now, it would be interesting to see how Samsung surprises the world with some mega launches.
