The Narendra Modi government is expected to take various measures to accelerate the slow economic growth of the country. Some of the key expectations from the Union Budget this year include measures to tackle agricultural distress and boost farm incomes and a solution to the NPA problem. The unemployment rate, according to a recent government report, has touched a 45-year high and many have linked slower growth with falling employment. In the last quarter of the 2018-19, GDP growth slipped to its lowest level in five years.
