Ahmedabad:
Sam Pitroda, adviser to Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations, on Sunday expressed confidence that the country will regain the growth rate of 8 per cent soon.
"The Union Government is doing its job. For the last ten years, we have been continuously clocking 8 per cent growth. Though it has gone down this year, we'll be able to catch up as soon as possible and achieve same growth rate," Pitroda said on the sidelines of a function here.
On Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi being projected as probable Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP, he said, "I love everybody. But I'll not comment on any individual. I wish everyone the best and I work with Chief Ministers of all the states."
He said the Central government was doing its job
"The Central government has introduced Right toInformation Act, Unique Identification Authority, NationalRural Employment Guarantee Act and is working on electronicfund transfer. But the media is only interested in talkingabout cricket, gossip and Bollywood,Pitroda said."
