The Reserve Bank of India has cut interest rates on Thursday by 25 basis points to 7.50 per cent on Wednesday for the second time in 2 months.
The Central Bank has left the Cash Reserve Ration unchanged at 4 per cent. Experts see it as a move to lower the inflation and improve recovery.
“It has been decided to reduce the policy repo rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) by 25 basis points from 7.75 per cent to 7.50 per cent with immediate effect,” Reserve Bank said in a statement today.
Earlier, in January, RBI reduced the benchmark interest rate from 8 per cent to 7.75 per cent.
