New Delhi:

Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has sued a real estate firm over dues around Rs 150 crore. Dhoni’s agency Rhiti Sports has filed a recovery suit in the Delhi High Court.

Managing director of Rhiti Sports, Arun Pandey said that Amrapali Group has not paid the dues for branding and marketing activities.

Earlier in February, the Supreme Court had pulled up the Amrapali group, stating the group should answer the concerns of buyers and obey the proposal to complete the housing projects within the time frame.

The Supreme Court had permitted the group to start their work immediately and complete the housing projects at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

In April 2016, Dhoni had resigned as the brand ambassador of the group following angry social media rants by the buyers of Amrapali housing projects. Although Dhoni had a defending tone at that time saying the builders are having a tough time in the current economic scenario but maintained that "whatever is promised, irrespective of where they stand, I think it needs to be met".

The complaints from the buyers of Amrapali Group’s housing project went viral on social media site twitter after they tagged and mentioned the 36-year-old cricketer asking him to resign from the post of brand ambassador.
