New Delhi:

Social networking site Facebook is planning to make major changes to the news feed on the mobile app. If reports are to be believed, this will be the biggest thing to ever happen to its news feed.

Several new features will be added after testing the layout for cell phones which will contain several news sections, with topics including World & US, Sports, and Food. However, the main news feed (default) will remain the same.

Though it still remains unclear whether the feature will be officially launched or not but Facebook has confirmed the reports of it testing the new, sectioned news feed to a leading daily.

“People have told us they’d like options to see more stories on Facebook around specific topics they’re interested in,” a Facebook spokesperson said via email. “So we have been testing a few feeds for people to view more and different stories from people and Pages based on topic areas.”

You will be given a choice of options and can edit which tabs you would like to see and which ones not. For instance food interests you, you can keep it and if you feel like removing sports from the view, it can be done too.
