Tech giant Google unveiled its new smartphones Pixel and Pixel XL, the first phones that were conceptualized, designed, engineered and tested in-house.
The Pixel phones feature a Siri-like virtual assistant, flashy camera features and are the first to boast Android’s new Nougat 7.1 operating system. It is the first phone with the new Google Assistant built in.
When you touch and hold the home button or say the "hot word," Google Assistant starts its action. Google claims that its new camera has "the shortest capture time on any mobile camera ever. However there's no optical image stabilization for stills.
The two phones Pixel and Pixel XL will be available in India, priced at Rs 57,000 onwards, in 32GB and 128GB versions. The eagerly awaited smartphones replace the existing Nexus line.
The devices will be put up for pre-order from October 13 in India and will be sold by the end of October. The handsets would be available through channels like Flipkart, Reliance Retail, Croma and Vijay Sales in India.
Endless cloud storage has been provided on this new smartphone. Pixel users will be getting the latest Android updates directly from Google as soon as they become available.
Pixel received the highest rating ever for a smartphone” from industry group DXOMark – 89 compared to the iPhone 7’s 86.
