New Delhi :

There is no dearth of talent in India. It is proven time and again as a Delhi guy has built an Android based Hybrid car in his low key garage in East Delhi’s Yamuna Vihar. Lalit Kumar, who lives in a village called Chauhan Patti in Delhi, has named the car as Pixy Hybrid Car. The hybrid car is entirely controlled by android based smartphones. One of the unique features of the car is that it can run on electricity as well as petrol.

One has an option to switch between both modes with the tap of a button on the Pixy prototype app for Android smartphones. Moreover, the smart car has an in-built battery charger, along with the ability to charge with solar energy. Kumar chose the Tata Nano as the vehicle to build upon, customised it with a homemade 150cc engine and sourced all the other parts from local markets of Delhi.

He says with 8 hours of charging, Pixy gives mileage of 70 kms at 50 km/hr. Kumar explains, “Even if one gets stuck in traffic jam they can shift the mode to auto pilot. One can then sit back and relax.”

Besides, Pixy garners attraction for its stylish gullwing doors that are usually fitted in luxury SUVs. Kumar added, “The doors can be opened with a simple app command. It can also travel for straight 4 hours on a single charge.” It took Kumar 8 months in total to complete the designing of the car.
