New Delhi :

In a good news for all the WhatsApp users, the Facebook owned app is now rolling out an update for the Android and iOS versions of the app that adds document sharing.

More specifically, PDF sharing.WhatsApp on Wednesday upgraded itself to finally send documents over chats, a feature that will be available via Google Play and the App Store - Android v2.12.453 and iOS v2.12.4.

Now, users will be able to see a 'Document' option in the Attachments section (as seen above) and can only send pdf files but in future more is expected from the company.

However, the user will only be able to send it if the other user has downloaded the app.In the new update, WhatsApp has also introduced several other features.

100 new emojis have been listed in Android, as mentioned in the Google Play listing. You can also share photos or videos from other apps such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft OneDrive.

Another update is that users can now see the "blue ticks" (indicating that the message has been read by the other party) directly from the main WhatsApp chat list.

Earlier, you had to tap on the chat to open the thread and see if the receiver has read the messages or not.

WhatsApp now has 1 billion monthly active users, just seven years after the app was first launched.
