New Delhi:
A woman in Bhubaneswar allegedly threw her infant baby girl into the fire following a family dispute on Thursday, a police official said.
The tragic incident took place at Salia Sahi slum in the city. The girl child is only six months old and reported critically injured with 90 per cent burns.
The baby was first rushed to a hospital in the city and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, the official said.
The girl child has sustained 90 per cent burns and her condition is critical, doctors treating her said.
The woman is suspected to be mentally challenged, the official said, adding she threw the baby into fire in a fit of rage after a
heated argument with her husband. The couple have been detained, the police official added.
