Rajkot:
Five persons were killed and ten others were injured when a truck overturned and fell on two vehicles near Limbdi town of Surendranagar district on Rajkot-Ahmedabad national highway on Saturaday, police said.
The accident took place this morning when members of two families were heading towards Ahmedabad from Mangrol in two private vehicles, police said.
A truck loaded with fish overturned on the two vehicles, killing five persons on the spot, police said.
The injured were rushed to Limbdi civil hospital, from where three to four persons were referred to Ahmedabad civil hospital for further treatment.
The deceased were identified as Sabira Hussain Taja, Samsuddin Hussain Katara, Saufiya Hussain Taja, Altaf Hussain Taja and Alfaz Hussain Taja, police said.
A complaint has been lodged against the truck driver and further investigation is on, police added.
