Two blasts, suspected to be triggered by Molotov cocktail, rattled the area outside Prakash Theatre in Belgavi, formerly known as Belgaum of Karnataka where the show of the polemic film Padmaavat was going on.

The incident occurred at around 9.30 PM on Thursday. As per the eye-witnesses, two people came on a bike and threw a bottle outside the theatre which erupted into a huge ball of fire before exploding. Video footage shows the second ball of fire even as people are scurrying for cover.

Police have started the investigation and the CCTV footage is being examined. Preliminary investigation suggests the use of petrol bombs or Molotov cocktail. Reports say no one suffered any injuries and the show went on.

Padmaavat, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh was released on Thursday in theatres across the country.
