Protesting against the death of a 19-year-old boy Paresh Mesta whose body was found in a lake on December 8 in Honnavar, angry protestors on Monday pelted stones at police and burnt down IG western range Hemant Nimbalakar's vehicle who was present at the protest site to maintain law and order.

Protesters were demanding immediate arrest of the killers of Paresh Mesta. BJP leaders have been alleging that Paresh was killed by PFI and that is why police are not acting whereas police say Paresh was missing since December 6 and on December 7 missing complaint was lodged and on December 8 the dead body of Paresh was found in a lake. Police have registered a case and are waiting for postmortem and forensic reports.

Hemant Nimbalakar, IG western range said, "I am safe, I was not present in the vehicle when some miscreants set my vehicle on fire. The situation is under control now. Paresh Mesta case will be solved soon.”
