Chandigarh:

Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) president and Hisar MP Kuldeep Bishnoi on Thursday said that he will undertake a nearly two-month long 'Vijay Yatra' from October to garner support for his party.

Bishnoi said that his party, an ally of the BJP, is trying to reach out to more and more people while it is also aggressively targeting the social media in a bid to woo the electorate.

Addressing a news conference here, Bishnoi, younger son of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal said the Yatra, in which the saffron leaders will also be participating, will start from the HJC stronghold Adampur in Hisar district on October 6, which happens to be the birthday of the MP's late father.

"It was Chaudhary Bhajan Lal ji's last wish to take out a Yatra before the elections, but since he passed away (two years back), we have to fulfil his wish.

"The 56-day Yatra will cover all 90 assembly constituencies of Haryana and will culminate in Hisar on December 2 (HJC foundation day), the day we will hold a big public meeting, in which top BJP leadership will also be taking part," Bishnoi said.

The Yatra is aimed to put the party's vision and its policies before the people and expose the alleged misdeeds of the Hooda government on corruption, law and order front, crime against women, power and water problem, unemployment, "atrocities" on Dalits and discrimination in development works.

"A yellow-coloured high-tech Vijay Rath (bus) has been prepared for the purpose, which is fitted with modern gadgets and will have facilities like conference room and private meeting room fitted inside," he said, adding two committees under the chairmanship of his brother and former Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan have been formed to ensure the Yatra's success.

On the either side of the bus, TV screens have been fitted while life-size cutouts of Bhajan Lal and Bishnoi have been placed on the extreme ends, with HJC and BJP party symbols (tractor and lotus) pasted on the front.

Photos of BJP leaders including A B Vajpayee, L K Advani, Narendra Modi, Sushma Swaraj and State BJP President Ram Bilas Sharma have also been placed on the body of the bus.
