Dehradun:

To streamline affairs of the Uttarakhand Congress ahead of next year's Lok Sabha elections, state Congress chief Yashpal Arya on Tuesday issued instructions to district party heads asking them to hold monthly meetings with party workers and submit their reports to the leadership.

He also asked office-bearers of party's state unit to hold a meeting with district chiefs every month at the party headquarters here to get a feedback on people's problems and measures initiated to solve them, PCC vice-president Suryakant Dhasmana said.

The PCC chief would start his tour of 13 districts of the state by this month-end to review the manner in which the instructions issued by him were being carried out by the party leaders at the district-level, Dhasmana said.

Arya pulled up the PCC office-bearers for allegedly ignoring the party's directives issued in this regard earlier and asked them to stay in constant touch with the people and party workers.

No laxity in this regard would be tolerated, he warned.
