Dehradun:

The strike of Uttarakhand employees continued as the agitating workers insisted on a government order conceding their various demands, even as talks were held to end the stalemate.

Employee leader Thakur Prahlad Singh, who met Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar, said there was agreement on major issues "but the stir will go on till we receive a government order conceding our demands."

Tuesday was the thirteenth day of the strike.

Over 2 lakh government employees are on indefinite strike since October 17 in support of their demands including three compulsory promotions during service, and a hike in grade pay from Rs 2800 to Rs 4200 as in case of secretariat employees.
