The services on Delhi Metro’s Violet Line on Friday were disrupted for one and a half hours between the Kashmiri Gate and Central Secretariat stations due to a glitch in the Over Head Electrification (OHE). The Violet Line connects Kashmere Gate in Delhi to parts of Faridabad in NCR.
A Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official told PTI that the train services were affected from 8:34 am to 10:02 am on Friday. There was intermittent OHE tripping on the up line section between the stations Central Secretariat and Mandi House, according to DMRC.
DMRC issued a statement which read, ''As a result, services were run on single line from Kashmere Gate to Central Secretariat during this period so that the OHE staff could identify and rectify the OHE tripping cause by going into the affected section,†the DMRC said in a statement.
The glitch took place during peak office hours, leaving many passengers stranded at the metro stations. Many commuters, who had a harrowing time, took to Twitter to express their anguish and anger due to the delayed service.

Other incidents of glitch in Delhi MetroÂ
This is not the first instance of a glitch in Delhi Metro this year as other lines were also affected by technical snags.
The train services on Delhi Metro’s Pink Line were affected due to a technical glitch in April. The metro train was left stranded at the Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus station.
Delhi Metro’s Blue Line, which is one of the busiest corridor of DMRC, was hit by a snag on March 29. The normal services were disrupted between Karol Bagh and RK Ashram stations, creating problems for the commuters.
The services at the corridor were also affected on April 6 when a snag was detected between between Rajiv Chowk and Barakhamba Road stations.
