New Delhi:

Delhi-NCR woke up to heavy rain-lashed morning on Thursday with the mercury level dropping to 27 degree Celsius. Light thunderstorm accompanied the rain in several parts of the city with the wind blowing at 11 km per hour. Humidity remained high at 94 per cent, according to the weather forecast.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 32 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively,” the weathermen said.

Although the overnight rain brought respite to the residents in the capital from the summer heat, early commuters to work, school and colleges faced problems as the downpour flooded several areas in the city and caused water logging and traffic jam.

On Wednesday too, rains lashed Delhi-NCR with the minimum temperature being recorded at 28 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal. The day’s maximum temperature settled at 32.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average. The humidity hovered between 88 and 56 per cent, according to the India Meteorological Department.
