At least 14 people, mostly students, were injured after a giant swing installed at a school in East Delhi's Anand Vihar fell down on Friday evening. The swing 'jhula' was installed at a Diwali fair organised in the school. The police said that the incident took place in the school premises run by the Amar Jyoti Charitabil Trust. The swing that fell was being operated manualy.
According to the police, 14 people were injured in the accident. The injured included school students and a teacher. The members of the institute were using the swing. Police reached the spot after the accident.
The injured were taken to a nearby private hospital. 12 of the injured were discharged after primary treatment, while two people are undergoing treatment.
The police said that the organisors of the fair had not taken permission for the swing. A case has been registered in the Anand Vihar police station and further investigation was on.
