Around 20-22 children were on the bus when the assailants stopped it at Dilshad Garden in north Delhi, around 7.40 am. The driver was shot in the leg. The police have launched a search operation for nabbing the assailants.

The incident comes a day after a school bus was attacked in Gurgaon by a mob protesting the film "Padmaavat". Children and teachers were seen on the floor of the bus, taking cover as some 60 attackers hurled stones and attacked the bus with bamboo sticks.
