Another case of coronavirus positive case emerged in Noida in Delhi-NCR on Saturday taking the number of COVID-19 cases to five here, district officials said on Saturday. The latest patient is a resident of the Supertech Capetown in sector-74. The district administration has announced a lockdown of the residential society from 10 am Saturday till 7 am on Monday for sanitisation.
"During this period nobody would be allowed to get in or go out of the society except only in very essential cases. Everybody is requested to stay indoors," District Magistrate B N Singh stated in an order.
This is the fifth case of Covid-19 in Gautam Buddh Nagar. Last Wednesday, an employee at HCL Technologies had tested positive for the novel coronavirus, while two persons were found positive in sector 100 and 78 of Noida on Tuesday. Earlier, a Delhi man who had returned from Italy, was also found positive in Noida. Uttar Pradesh has recorded 24 coronavirus positive cases, including one foreigner, while 258 such cases have been reported across India till Saturday morning, according to the Union Health Ministry. The total number of COVID-19 cases in India has now reached 258, including 39 foreigners, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday morning.
According to reports, about 15,000 people are residing in the Supertech Capetown currently. The district administration has issued a directive to the residents seeking their co-operation. The directive called for a two-day lockdown of the premises. All residents have been asked to remain indoors for 45 hours allowing the health department will complete their protocol. Only essential services shall be allowed.

In order to help contain the spread of coronavirus, Noida Police on Friday ordered the closure of all malls, spa-centres in the region, informed Rannvijay Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). The police has also imposed section 144 in the region, the official informed. Only chemist shops, general stores, vegetable and fruits shops are allowed to function.
