Entry, exit at all Delhi Metro stations are allowed now

Entry and exit at all the metro stations are now operating normally. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) allowed exits at Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhavan, Mandi House and Pragati Maidan metro stations from 7:28 pm onwards.

Earlier, the DMRC had blocked exits at Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhavan, Mandi House and Pragati Maidan Metro stations with immediate effect. However, commuters was allowed to enter inside these Metro stations to board trains. According to reports, the decision was taken becuase of security reasons. 

The DMRC had restricted the exit facility for commuters at the Rajiv Chowk metro station from 9 pm onwards on New Year's Eve. Rajiv Chowk, one of the busiest stations of the Delhi Metro, caters to both the Blue Line and the Yellow Line.

Earlier, the much-awaited Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 stretch of Delhi Metro’s Pink Line extension was flagged off by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Union Minister Hardeep Puri on New Year's Eve. The new segment of the 59-km-long Pink Line, which spans from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar, is part of the Phase-III of the DMRC network and an extension of the Pink Line. The 9.7-km Lajpat Nagar-Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 corridor has already been inspected for safety, according to officials.

"Mark your calendars! Pink Line extension from Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 will begin operations from 4 pm on December 31, 2018. The section will connect Lajpat Nagar and Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 through Vinoba Puri, Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Mayur Vihar 1. #DelhiMetro," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had tweeted earlier.
