Delhiites had to sweat it out on Monday with maximum temperature hovering near the 40-degree mark and high humidity adding to the woes.

The day temperature was registered at 39.2 degree Celsius which was three above normal and significantly higher than Sunday's 37.5 degree Celsius.

Minimum temperature remained normal for this part of the year settling at 27.8 degree Celsius.

However, this too was considerably higher than previous day's 25.2 degree Celsius.

Maximum humidity was recorded at 79 per cent while minimum remained at 42 per cent.

The weather office has predicted generally cloudy sky on Tuesday with possibility of rain and thundershowers in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be at 36 and 28 deg C, respectively.
