New Delhi:

The Ghaziabad Police has arrested the prime accused in the shocking Indirapuram tragedy, in which a couple committed suicide after murdering two children in their sleep. The man identified as one Rakesh Verma was said to be the brother-in-law of Gulshan Kumar, the victim. Kumar along with his wife and another close associate jumped to death from their Indirapuram apartment on eighth floor in Vaibhav Khand area. In the suicide note written on the wall of one of the bedrooms inside the apartment, Kumar had blamed Verma for taking this extreme step. The identity of the second woman is yet to be ascertained. While initial reports said that the other woman was the second wife of Kumar, News Nation has learnt that she was a close associate and manager in the business.

Sources told News Nation that Kumar’s problems with Verma dates back to 2015 when he invested Rs 2 crore that he got from a land deal in Jhilmil area of east Delhi on Verma’s advice. But Kumar lost all money and didn’t get the possession of the property either. Kumar had also filed an FIR against Verma in 2015.

In the suicide note written on the wall of the Indirapuram flat, Gulshan Kumar had clearly blamed Rakesh Verma for the suicide. Kumar’s brother told News Nation that a dealer in Kolkata was putting pressure on him for giving money. The family was undergoing financial troubles as they had lost all savings on the bad deal of 2015 and subsequent litigations.

Police say that prima facie it looks like that fed up with the tensions, Kumar decided to end his life along with his wife and close associate. On Tuesday morning at around 5 am, Kumar, his wife, his close associate jumped off from the building. Before that, they murdered the children in their sleep. The daughter aged 17 was pursuing a fashion designing course, while the 12-year-old son was studying in a nearby school.
