New Delhi:

Temperature in the national capital soared to 47 degrees today as the severe heatwave grips Northern India. The MeT department issued heatwave to severe heatwave warning conditions for parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.

“These conditions are likely to spread … during May 17-21. They are likely to abate gradually during the remaining part of May, Indian MeT department said. The IMD has also forecasted an ‘above normal’ monsoon this year, meaning the rainfall could be 104-110% of a 50-year average.

The country is already under a strong grip of drought, lack of food, water scarcity, intense heatwave is killing people all over. Water was transported in trains to Latur of Maharashtra, the area hit most by drought.

According to weather analysts, temperatures will keep rising in Delhi for at least three more days due to dry winds from north-western direction. In Rajasthan, the temperature is expected to cross 47 degrees on the weekend.

Well, for all this mother nature cannot be blamed. Humans messing up with environment is the major contributor to the climate change. The bane of climate change has already made monsoons unpredictable, as a result agriculture will be affected. Greenhouse gases is another major factor for global warming.
