Election Commission on Tuesday announced the dates of Delhi Municipal Corporation elections. The MCD polls will be held on April 22. The counting of the Municipal Corporation Election will be held on April 25.

# There at 272 seats at stake with NDMC and SDMC accounting for 104 seats each, while 64 seats fall under EDMC. The total no of voters in Delhi for Municipal Corporation elections is 1 crore 32 lakh.
# Cash expenses limit per candidate has been limited to Rs 5 lakh 75 thousand.
# Candidates can campaign from 5 am to 10 pm. They cannot campaign at religious places like temples and mosque.
# EVMs will be used in the upcoming municipal corporation elections. 17 thousand polling staffs are required to organise the poll.
# On the use of EVM, “Rules need to be changed for using ballots paper in MCD polls and there is not enough time left as elections have been declared.â€
