New Delhi:

The suspicious bag found at Terminal 3 of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport contained no RDX but regular stuff like clothes, sweets, laptop charger and other stuff. The owner of the bag had mistakenly left it at the airport. The police have reportedly given the clean chit to him. The guy, who was the owner of the bag, hailed from Haryana's Ballabhgarh and had come to Delhi from Mumbai with three other friends.

Earlier, there was a report that a bag with suspected explosives was found at Delhi's Terminal 3 airport in the early hours of Friday, leading to passenger movement being restricted for a few hours and roads outside the high-security complex blocked. IT was reported that the black bag caontained traces of Research Department Explosive (RDX) and was taken to a cooling pit.

It was checked by an explosive detector and a sniffer dog. The exact nature of the explosive is being ascertained, the sources added. CISF Special Director General (airport sector) MA Ganapathy, however, said it was "premature" to say the explosive is RDX grade.

Research Department Explosive, acronymed RDX, is a deadly non-smelly explosive and has been used by terrorist elements in the past to create mass casualties. Sources said the suspected explosive has been put under observation for the next 24 hours and something certain can be said only after that. The bag also contained sea shell and it is being said that it was probably due to the chemicals of the sea water the dog squad initially indicated it could be explosive.
