Heavy rains lashed parts of Delhi-NCR on Thursday evening brining much needed respite from humid conditions. The rains caused water-logging at different places which affected movement of vehicles. Operations at Delhi airport too have been affected due to heavy rain and remained suspended between 7:56 pm to 8:22 pm at Indira Gandhi International Airport, reported ANI.
Airlines such as Vistara and SpiceJet warned their passengers on Twitter that due to the bad weather in Delhi, their flights might get affected.
Earlier, it was a sultry Thursday morning in the national capital, with the weatherman predicting light rains.
The weatherman has predicted partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rains and thundershowers in the city for the next three to four days.
States like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been battered by a burst of rainfall towards the end of the four-month-long monsoon season, which officially ended on Monday.
The heavy rainfall has led to several rivers, including the Ganga, flowing above or near the danger mark at several places.
