Srinagar:
Leh National highway was blocked and many houses inundated following a cloudburst in Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir resulting in floods in the area.
The cloudburst took place on Thursday evening that led to over flowing of many streams passing through the district, official sources said.
Many houses have been inundated due to the floods but there are no reports of any loss of life so far, the sources said.
Roads of Kargil town and 434-km strategic Srinagar-Leh highway have been blocked, they said.
Roads, bridges and hundreds of livestock were swept away following a cloudburst in Changut village of Lahaul and Spiti district, police said.
About 100 livestock, a bridge and 50-meter road were washed away in the cloudburst in Mayar area of the district on Thursday night, they said.
