Infiltration bid foiled at LoC, one militant gunned down

Army has foiled an intrusion bid along the Line of Control in Pallanwan sector of Jammu, killing an intruder in the operation.

Troops noticed suspicious movement of 2 to 3 persons in Lalyali forward belt along LoC in the district around 2030 hours last night and challenged them, PRO Defence S N Acharya said on Monday.

Army opened opened fire on the intruders, who were deep inside Indian territory, he said, adding that in the firing one intruder was killed.

During search operation, army found the body of the intruder aged between 42-45 years.
