Ranchi:

Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric) MLA Nizamuddin Ansari, who was suspended by the party for abstaining on the July 18 rpt 18 trust vote of the Hemant Soren government, is recovering at a hospital in Kolkata.

"I suffered severe pain in my chest, and got admitted to the hospital in Kolkata, and I am still in the hospital," he said over phone.

Ansari was suspended by Babulal Marandi's JVM after he failed to turn up when Chief Minister Hemant Soren sailed through the vote of confidence.

After JMM MLAs Nalin Soren and Sita Soren obtained bail at the eleventh hour, the JMM-led government secured 43 votes while 37 opposition legislators voted against the motion.

Ansari became the second MLA to be in a hospital when Jharkhand Assembly took trust vote.

The then NCP MLA Kamlesh Singh had suddenly fallen ill just when former chief minister Shibu Soren was to take trust vote on March 11, 2005.

Soren, however, did not take the trust vote then and had resigned the same day after being in power for nine days.

Singh became a minister in the subsequent Arjun Munda government.
