UP govt staff, policemen asked to refrain from taking leaves in view of festivals

However, In Case Of Any Emergency, The Controlling Officer Can Sanction The Leave After Verifying The Facts, A UP Government Spokesperson Said.

In view of the upcoming festivals, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Anoop Chandra Pandey on Sunday issued directives to various government departments and police not to allow their personnel to take any leave till August 15.

However, in case of any emergency, the controlling officer can sanction the leave after verifying the facts, a UP government spokesperson said.

The chief secretary has issued orders that in view of the various upcoming festivals and to maintain peace, order and ensure essential services, the leaves of all the personnel of the government departments concerned should not be allowed, the spokesperson said in a statement issued in Lucknow on Sunday.

A slew of festivals are lined up in the upcoming months which include Independence Day, Durga Puja, Eid, Diwali, Chhath puja, and Christmas among others.
