Muzaffarnagar (UP):

A bank manager, who was on the run, in connection with an alleged theft of Rs 18 lakh, was arrested on Friday, the police said.
Robin Bansal, the manager of Bantikheda village branch of the Indian Overseas Bank, was a co-accused in the theft of Rs 18 lakh from an ATM of the bank in Shamli. As much as Rs 14 lakh was recovered from Bansal’s possession on his arrest, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar said.

Another accused, Chetan, had already been arrested in the case, the SP said.

It was Bansal who had given the password to Chetan and also told him the technique to open the machine. During the course of the investigation, an alleged scam of nearly Rs 4 crore also came to light in the Bantikheda village branch, the official said.
