Three killed in fresh communal violence in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar (UP):

Fresh communal violence broke out in Budhana area of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday leaving atleast three persons dead.

The three victims have been identified as Afroz, 20, Meherban, 21, and Ajmal, 22. They were beaten to death while another was injured when clashes erupted between members of two communities in Muhammadpurraisingh village, District Magistrate Kaushal Raj said.

Tight security has been put in place in the area and senior officials have reached the spot, the DM said.

Riots in Muzaffarnagar last month had left over 60 dead and Muhammadpurraisingh village was one of places affected.

According to sources, the victims were among those staying in relief camps after the riots.
