Mumbai:

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has booked a 17-year-old girl for travelling on the footboard of a local train coach in Mumbai, on Wednesday. A video shot by a co-passenger showing the narrow escape of the girl from slipping onto the tracks went viral on Tuesday. The girl was travelling on a Kalyan-bound train between Ghatkopar and Vikhroli and was pulled back into the compartment by other passengers. The RPF registered a case under section 156 of the Railways Act.

According to Mumbai Mirror, after the video was circulated on social media, the Central Railways has decided to launch a special drive on Thursday to create awareness among commuters from travelling on the footboard of the train.
