Campa Cola residents protest demolition, shut society doors
Campa Cola residents on Tuesday protested demolition of their society. They opposed BMC officials, who were there to demolish the illegal flats in eight towers, by shutting the doors of the society.
The notice had warned residents of action under section 149 of CrPc if any law and order issue is created during eviction.
On October 1, Supreme Court had issued notice to the residents to vacate flats above fifth floor of all the seven towers within the premises by November 11.
Two days back BMC had also issued notice to the residents to evacuate the floors under Section 488.
"As the said time period expires on November 11, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has organized demolition of the premises on November 12," the BMC notice had stated.
Around 102 families are living in 35 illegal floors in seven building of Campa Cola society.
