Patna:

JD(U) on Thursday reacted sharply to Narendra Modi's accusation about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar enjoying a feast at a party programme in Rajgir when serial blasts occured at his rally in Patna, saying it shows the BJP's prime ministerial candidate's hatred for the state.

These are baseless accusations as Kumar had cancelled his programmes at Munger and Rajgir following the serial blasts on October 27 to monitor the situation by remaining at Patna, Bihar JD(U) President Bashistha Narayan Singh told.

He was reacting to Modi's remarks at Chhattisgarh rally on Thursday.

The two-day convention of JD(U) at Rajgir began the next day (October 28) in which Kumar came in the second half after completing all needful works, Singh said seeking to factually correct the BJP prime ministerial nominee.

"By cooking up stories against Nitish Kumar and the state, the Gujarat Chief Minister has shown his deep hatred for Bihar," he said.

On Modi's statement describing Bihar chief minister as "insensitive", the state JD(U) chief said "It is actually the other way round. He (Narendra Modi) did not visit the victims of Gujarat riots in 2002, but came to Bihar to wash tears of victims of Patna blasts for political gains," Singh claimed.

"A man who is a PM nominee should desist from talking so irresponsibly this is not good for the BJP as well the country," he said.
