The Election Commission has allotted poll symbols to seven registered unrecognised parties in Chhattisgarh for the next month's Assembly elections.
"Seven registered unrecognised parties were allotted poll symbols for the coming state Assembly elections," an Election Commission official said here on Tuesday.
According to the official, the Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch was allotted 'whistle' as its poll symbol.
Similarly the Bhartiya Bahujan Party was given 'sewingmachine' as its poll symbol. The Hindustan Swaraj Party was given the symbol of 'diesel pump', while the Bhartiya Picchda Dal was allotted 'glass tumbler' as its symbol.
The Bhartiya Sadbhawna Samaj Party, Gondwana Gantantra Party and Shaktisena (Bharatdesh) were allotted 'slate', 'saw' and 'candle' as their party symbols, respectively.
The official further said that the political parties have been informed about the opening of bank account for their candidates at least a day before filing their nominations.
The candidates will have to manage their poll expenses from the account, he said.
"The limit of poll expenditure in one constituency has been fixed at Rs 16 lakh," he added.
If any party wants to use helicopter during the campaign then they will have to inform to the respective returning officer 24 hours ahead, he said.
As per the directives of the Supreme Court, if the candidate misses out something while filling the nomination form then it will be the responsibility of the Returning Officer to inform the candidate about those missing entries, the official said.
As many as 18 Naxal-affected constituencies of the southern region will go to polls in the first phase on November 11 while the rest of the 72 constituencies will vote in the second phase on November 19.
There are almost 1,67,97,368 voters in the state, of which 85,51,862 are men and 82,45,506 women.
A total of 21,418 polling stations are in the state which requires 1.10 lakh personnel for conducting elections.
So far, more than 99 per cent of voter IDs has been prepared in the state, he said.
