Minister of State (MoS) Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir wrote to Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis about 'multiple cases of rape of minor tribal girls staying at a tribal hostel run by Infant Jesus Education Society in Chandrapur, requesting him to "enquire the delay in registration of the FIR in the case".
Ahir, who is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Chandrapur on BJP ticket, said the girls were allegedly drugged and sexually abused by staff of the hostel. He added that there was dissatisfaction and unrest among people and "people are clamouring for a CBI enquiry".
