New Delhi:
A 55-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped, raped and robbed of her jewellery by five men in Greater Noida on Friday. A case has been filed by the Noida police while the medical examination report is still awaited.
The incident took place in the Knowledge Park area of Greater Noida on Friday night. Meanwhile, there were unconfirmed reports that the families of the victim and the suspects had a dispute earlier.
According to the woman, who is a Dalit, the five men were aged between 20 and 25 years. They abducted her while she was sleeping in a cowshed near her house, took her to a field where they raped her, she added.
The accused named in the FIR – Sachin and his brother Ajay who are residents of Greater Noida, Akash and his brother Rithik who are residents of Delhi’s Nehru Nagar, and Gaurav – fled the spot after robbing the woman.
“First, one local rushed to her rescue on the field. After he raised an alarm, three other villagers reached the spot and saw the five youths running away. They had snatched her gold earrings and nose-pin and silver anklets before fleeing,” the woman’s brother-in-law was quoted by Times of India as saying.
The woman has been admitted to a hospital in Kasna village where she is being treated for injuries.
