A vegetable vendor was shot dead by an unidentified biker in Bihar’s Begusarai for allegedly refusing to give a free cucumber. According to a report by ‘The New Indian Express’, the victim has been identified as one Ganesh Mahto. The brazen attack is yet another reminder of a poor law and order situation in Bihar. The vegetable vendor was shot dead near a road crossing at in Khorampur area, which falls under the Maithani police station limits. According to eyewitnesses, the biker stopped near Mahto’s push cart and demanded a free cucumber.

When Mahto refused, the biker pulled out his ‘desi pistol’ and fired at the vegetable vendor. Before the locals could raise an alarm, the biker fled the scene. Mahto was declared upon arrival at a local hospital. The media report said that the police probe is underway and no arrest has been made so far.
